Hartzel Animal Hospital is one of the oldest veterinary hospitals in the Niagara area and has been providing excellent care to our patients since 1954. The hospital relocated to its present location in the fall of 2010.  This move allowed the hospital to expand to have three large exam rooms, a well-stocked food room, a dental suite, an isolation area, a dedicated quiet room for euthanasia’s, large surgical suite and both wards for cats and one for dogs.  Our treatment area in the middle of the hospital and can accommodate multiple doctors, technicians and support staff when providing care to our patients.  Our lab is equipped with a blood analyzer, CBC machine as well as a urinalysis machine. ​

Our team of DVMs are committed to providing the best possible care to our patients and often collaborate on cases which can help the client make medical decisions.   Our customer care team creates a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere to all who enter our reception area.  Our technician team of RVTs are experienced, knowledgeable, compassionate and always willing to help.  Our ACA team work with our technicians and doctors to provide our patients with the quality of medicine they have come to expect.  Our Practice Manager has worn many hats during her career at Hartzel and now leads the team.​

We provide our patients with traditional preventative medicine, a variety of soft tissue surgeries and dentals. We work together with a local company that provides comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound scans of soft tissue, including abdominal, echocardiography, thorax and small parts such as thyroid and musculoskeletal structures.  Our team of doctors often collaborates on cases which can help the client to make medical decisions. ​
